God is our refuge and strength. He’s our very present help in time of trouble. He’s our hiding place. He’s our strong tower! He’s our hope for tomorrow! He’s our peace! He’s our way maker! He’s our source! He’s our healer! He’s our friend (Jn. 15:15)! He’s our encourager!
He’s joy in the midst of sorrow (Ps. 30:11; Is. 61:1-3; Jer. 31:13)! During death, heartache, and sickness, He gives us joy, unspeakable joy (Jn. 16:20; 1 Thess. 4:13-14)! He’s our protection, our shield and buckler (Ps. 35)! When our world is crashing down around us, God is our strong foundation that can’t be shaken! He’s all that we need!
1 God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. He is always there to help us in times of trouble. 2 The earth may fall apart. The mountains may fall into the middle of the sea. But we will not be afraid. 3 The waters of the sea may roar and foam. The mountains may shake when the waters rise. But we will not be afraid. Psalm 46:1-3, NIRV
Why do we look for things and people to be to us what only God can be? Things get broken, lost, and destroyed. People are fickle; they’ll abandon us and hurt us. They’ll love us today, and then hate us tomorrow. But God is not like that at all. His love never changes. He never changes. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever more! We don’t need to look any place else. We don’t have to search anywhere else. Jehovah God is all we need!
Hasn’t He proven Himself to us time and time again in our lives?
Only He can be all that we need and so much more. Stop the searching! Stop the wandering. God is who we need. Hasn’t He proven Himself to us time and time again in our lives? God is right here by our side and He’s been here all the time. All that we could ever need or could ever want can be found in our God.
My sister, we can stop looking now. Our search is over. God is our safe place to hide. He’s ready to help and deliver! During your quiet time, read Psalm 46 and allow God’s Word to encourage you to keep walking in freedom with Jesus Christ.
