That Offer

“Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matt. 6:27,30-34, NLT)

I received an email saying,

“Hello. I’ll be handling all of your problems today. Please remember that I do not need your help.” - God

But how often do I take God up on that offer? We have such a sweet Master. We serve a loving God who protects and defends us! He’s our Watchman, who watches over us. God watched over us last night while we slept. He hovered over us, kept us safe. He guarded our windows and doors, and made sure everyone was safe while we slept in peaceful bliss.

God told us don’t worry about anything. He promised to take care of everything. As our Heavenly Father, He says to us, “Do not be stressed out, my daughter. Don’t let those things get you down. I’m going to handle everything for you. You, my sweet child, can rest tonight. Go to sleep, and I will take care of everything.” But did we take Him up on that offer?

Unfortunately, some of us didn’t. Some of us did just what He told us not to do. We worried. We stressed. We tossed and turned during the night. We paced the floors. Our blood pressure and heart rate increased. We mulled those problems over in our head, which caused us to have a sleepless night. Instead of resting and allowing God to work that thing out, we chose to fret over it. We thought of plans and solutions to our problems. Instead of a peaceful rest, we decided to do God’s work, you know, help Him out (as if He needs our help). So, we wasted another restful night that should have allowed us to be well rested, refreshed, and ready to enjoy another beautiful day that God made for us.

Why do we do that?! Sisters, why do we choose the option to worry, the option to get all stressed out over things we have no control? Why do we work ourselves up into a frenzy, trying to do God’s job? We try to fix things and handle things on our own, when we weren’t made that way.

Sisters, God is the All-Sufficient One God Almighty (El-Shaddai). He’s the God who sees us (El-Roi)! And He’s the Lord who is there (Jehovah-Shammah)! We can count on Him for everything and we can be sure that He will always handle everything. God is our banner who watches over us (Jehovah-Nissi)! So, let’s let God be who He is….YAHWEH (I Am Who I Am)!

Let’s take Him up on that offer.

Hello, Father! I will move out the way and allow You to take care of everything!
