I had a long talk with the Lord. It was an intense conversation. I was mad, frustrated, tired, drained and feed up! He listened while I complained. He listened patiently to me complained about how things are not the way I think they should be. He patiently listened to me sulk about how I’m tired of this and feed up with that. He patiently listened to me grumble and ask, When, Lord? How long Lord? Why Lord? He listened as I cried, This is too heavy!! It’s too much!! I’m ready to call it quits!! I’m through!!
After I finished all my complaining and sulking and crying and having my own pity party, (I must admit, it really did feel good) He opened His mouth and encouraged me. With His gentle voice, He silenced my noise. He comforted me and said, In My timing…be faithful to what I have called you to do..I have something great in store for you….but remain faithful…….
He calmed me and told me that His plan is so much better. Oh much better! He lifted up my bowed down and my heavy heart.
“Pile your troubles on God's shoulders— he'll carry your load, he'll help you out.” (Psalm 55:22a, MSG)
Sometimes it’s just good to let it all out. It’s good to let the floodgates from our eyes pour down. It’s good to release what’s been sitting on our hearts. It’s good to lay it all on the table to God. If we can’t talk to our Heavenly Father, then who can we talk to? And after we have let it all out, cried our tears out, our Father calmly says, “There, there my child….”
Maybe you feel the weight of this world is on your shoulders. Maybe your problems and the cares of this world are piled high on your back. Those burdens are so heavy that you feel you can barely walk. The troubles have caused you to stress out, panic, and run the other way. You have cried, sulked, pouted, complained, and felt downright depressed.
But have you consider this: Maybe the weight is so heavy because you are trying to do it on your own, all by yourself. But you can’t. We’re not meant to carry this heavy load alone and God doesn’t want us to carry it alone.
My dear sister, take your burdens, cares, stresses, issues, questions to the Lord and leave them there! Let Jesus help you! He wants to help you. He will help you.
As we wait for Him, let’s pray this prayer: Father, our burdens are too heavy. We can’t do this alone. Lord, we need You help! We cry out to You and we ask You to help us carry this load. Lord, lift our heavy burdens. Give us courage and peace to keep going. Strength to keep being faithful to what You have told us to do. We thank you for this season. We thank You for allowing us to come to You for everything and for being able to cast all our cares at Your feet. We love You and we appreciate You. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the Word of God and take everything to God in prayer!
It’s Wednesday - Hump Day! Here's our biblical principle to help us get over the hump.
I call to God; God will help me. At dusk, dawn, and noon I sigh deep sighs—he hears, he rescues. My life is well and whole, secure in the middle of danger Even while thousands are lined up against me. God hears it all, and from his judge’s bench puts them in their place. (Ps. 55:16-19b, MSG)
