I had a long talk with the Lord. It was an intense conversation. I was mad, frustrated, tired, drained and feed up! He listened while I complained. He listened patiently as I criticized how things are not going the way I think they should go. He quietly listened to me sulk about how I’m tired of this and feed up with that. He tolerated my grumbling as I questioned, “When, Lord? How long, Lord? Why Lord?” He listened as I cried, “This is too heavy! It’s too much! I’m ready to quit! I’m done!
After I finished all my whining and sulking and sobbing and having my own pity party, (I must admit, it really felt good to release all that). God opened His mouth and encouraged me. With His gentle voice, He silenced my noise. He comforted me and said, “In My timing, daughter…be faithful to what I have called you to do…I have something greater in store for you…but remain faithful…….
My Father calmed me. He lifted my bowed down head and gave my heavy heart peace.
PSALM 55:22a “Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders— he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.” (MSG)
Sometimes it’s just good to let it all out. It’s good to let the floodgates from our eyes pour down. It’s good to release what’s been weighing on our minds. It’s good to lay it all on the table before the Lord. He knows it all anyway. But He wants us to talk to Him (Phil. 4:6; Is. 1:18). If we can’t talk to our Heavenly Father and be honest with Him, then who can we talk to? After we have cried all our tears, our Father calmly and lovingly responds, “There, there my child.”
Maybe you feel the weight of this world is on your shoulders. Perhaps your problems and cares are piled high on your back. Those burdens are so heavy that you feel you can barely walk. Your troubles have you stressed out, panicking, and running all over the place. You have wept, fretted, pouted, complained, and felt downright depressed.
1 Pet. 5:7 Turn all your worries over to him. He cares about you. (NIRV)
But have you considered this: Maybe the weight is so heavy because you are trying to do it on your own, all by yourself? Could you be feeling this way because you’re going against the will of God? Listen beloved, you cannot do LIFE on your own. We can’t. We’re not meant to carry these heavy loads alone and God doesn’t want us to (1 Pet.5:7). Additionally, we must survey our lives to be sure we’re in the will of God. We must be certain. Many storms come because of our disobedience to God. Let’s make sure our will aligns with God’s.
My dear sister, take your burdens, cares, stresses, issues, frustration, and questions to the Lord. And leave them there! Let Jesus help you! Oh, how He wants to help us and give us rest (Matt. 11:28).
Let’s pray: Lord, our burdens are too heavy. We can’t do this alone. We need Your help! Lord, forgive us for going out of Your will. Help us to remain in You, be obedient to You and live for You. Give us courage and peace to keep going. Strength to keep being faithful to what You have told us to do. We thank You for this season. We thank You for grace and permitting us to come to You for everything. We thank You for being able to cast all our cares at Your feet. We love You and we appreciate You. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the Word of God and take everything to God in prayer! Once we release what’s holding us down, we can joyfully walk in freedom with Jesus Christ!
Your sis,
Rhovonda
It’s Wednesday – Hump Day! Here’s our biblical principle to help us get over the hump.
PSALM 55:116-19 16 As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. 17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. 18 He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me. 19 God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change— he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God. (NIV)
