When God doesn’t answer

What do you do when God doesn’t answer you the way you expected?

Keep. Trusting. God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us: 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV)

That kind of faith we need is: “an inherent trust and enduring confidence in God’s power, His wisdom and His goodness.” In other words, in order to do what Proverbs 3:5-6 says, in order to trust God deeply, our faith in God must be deep-rooted, ingrained, inbred in us. That’s an inherent trust! Continuous confidence in God’s power, wisdom and His goodness.

Now does this kind of trust happen immediately? Does it happen as soon as we accept Jesus as our Savior?

I believe for some it does. According to 1 Corinthian 12:9, God has given some people the gift of faith. But for others and for me, no. When I first accepted Christ, I did not instantly have a deep-rooted trust in God. In fact, right now, my trust in God is still developing. I still have doubts, at times. Oftentimes, I have to ask God to help my unbelief. Help that side of me that’s struggling to believe.

God is teaching me how to trust Him more. Lord, I believe! Please help me believe You more! Tweet

When God doesn’t answer us in the way we expect Him to, we must continue trusting Him, even when it’s difficult. If you are struggling to believe God at His Word, pray and ask Him to increase your faith.

Then, expect Him to do the unthinkable and unimaginable. Look for God to do something that will blow your mind! God will do exceedingly, and abundantly, above all you could ever imagine, think or even dream.

Not in the way you think.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

God doesn’t think like you. He doesn’t respond how you would respond. God’s ways are higher than ours.

““My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” (Isaiah 55:8 NLT)

Expect the unexpected and continue to have confident Hope in God! He will answer but in His own way and time.

Your sis,

Rhovonda
