Look back over your life. Make a list of all the things that have changed your life for the better. What or who is on your list? What came to your mind first? What’s at the top of your list? Was it easy to write a list or did you find it to be challenging? Possibly your list is so long that you can go on and on about your many successes. Awesome! On the other hand, maybe you can only think of a few. And that’s fine too. Perhaps you may feel there hasn’t been any good things that have happened in your life. Well, if so, let me share my list with you.
Out of all the things that has happened in my life, the greatest best thing that has changed my life for the better is this:
1. JESUS
Now, of course, I could add more to that list, but I wanted to list the greatest best thing. And that is Jesus. He is my BEST thing! I know you probably get tired of me saying how blown away I am about God’s amazing love for me. But I am. God really blows my mind. I’m in awe that He loves me just that much. He loves me so much that He saved me, changed me, and adopted me into His perfect family. I was a nobody and still would be that pitiful person had Jesus not saved me. He poured His grace and Holy Spirit upon me, giving me a different outlook on life. He has given me a new life, a future, and hope.
Today, with great joy, I’m rejoicing and basking in His extraordinary love. I’m so grateful to God for loving me and choosing me. He chose me! He didn’t have to, but I’m glad He did. And He chose you, too! Before you were born, before you were conceived in your mother’s womb, God knew you and selected you to be a part of His glorious family (Jer. 1:5; Is. 49:1; 2 Tim. 2:19). Why? Because He loves you.
The sons and daughters of God who have accepted Jesus into their hearts have a beautiful inheritance waiting for them in Heaven. Our prize and crown awaits us. Not only does God gives us such wonderful blessings to enjoy right now, but when we get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing there will be. Whoa!! That beautiful city awaits us. Our Savior is waiting for us to cross over to the other side, and I can’t wait to see Him face to face.
Our Savior is the GREATEST BEST THING that has ever happened to us. Had it not been for our sweet Jesus dying for our sins, taking our place on the cross, exchanging our dirty life for a life brand new, oh where we would be.
So to all our accomplishments, our achievements, dreams that have and will come true, to all the applauds, and pats on the back, they do not and will not ever compare to the joy, peace and new life Christ has given us. For He is our GREATEST BEST THING!
My sister, have you had a chance to experience Christ? Do you know Him for yourself? Is He your personal Savior? Has He washed you and made you new? If not my friend, try God today. Why not give Jesus a try? Taste and see that He is GOOD. Oh, how blessed, favored, happy, fortunate, and prosperous you will be. Today, place your total trust in Him, and let Jesus be all you will ever need and more. May your days be filled with Jesus.
